Ya win some, ya lose some

Is it morning already? We seemed to have a rough night last. Poor Henry. I woke up to him grunting around is his crib around 11:45 last night to find his swimming in vommit. Yes, everywhere. His poor head was covered and everything in his crib needed to be washed. He smelled terrible and looked at me as if to say sweetly "mommy, my tummy hurts" It explains why I couldn't get him to eat any solids last night.
We took off his clothes, threw him in the tub, and he sat there, so tired, and not sure why he was in the water sooo late. I knew that Henry would not be able to sleep in his crib because his mattress was soaked, so we pulled the air mattress out by daddy, waking him up in the process...sorry daddy! Henry quickly fell back to sleep, but we woke up this morning to find that he still is so sick to him tummy. Whats a mommy to do??
We found out last night that Josh did not make it on to the moot board. I think he's a little disappointed. He worked so hard this last week, and I think would have really enjoyed that work. I think he may be frustrated that during his second round the judges told him that they really liked some of the vocabulary he used, and in his third and final round he was told that the same vocabulary shouldn't have been used. How is that fair? He should get a redo, but I'm a little biased.
I havent told you yet, however, the good news! Josh has been offered 2 different jobs. One working this summer for the attorney general in the civil department. He has yet to accept it because has an interview with the public safety department on tuesday. The other position is working in the fall or spring semester for the federal defender. He is really excited about this position. Apparently he has had several big cases go before the supreme court.... Im not entirely sure what that means. Only that it is a really great thing, and my husband is happy. Thats all that matters.
Well, I'm back to visiting Marcus this week. Its been nice to be off, but we have missed him too. Wish me luck!
-Until next time....

The world of law school competition

Good Evening to the world of fellow bloggers,
This weekend has been a little grueling for the small Snow family.
Law school has different aspects of it, few of which I am actually aware. I am, however, aware of the grueling competitions that take place the first year of law school. These are in place to set up for eventful 2nd and 3rd years, and something that is supposed to look really great on a graduating student's resume. My sweet husband has been actively involved in these competitions. Several weeks ago it was the Law Journal competition, which he isn't supposed to hear back from until July. Most recently, well, currently he is waiting to hear back from the Moot Court competition. He competed wednesday evening, found out friday evening that he made it on to the second round and saturday evening after competing earlier that day found out he made it on to the third round. He competed early this morning, again doing his oral argument in front of a panel of student judges. We are both a little on edge now waiting to find out if he has made it onto the moot court board. WOOT WOOT! I'll let you know when I know.
However busy that sounds we have been battling a yucky virus at home. I was terribly ill on Thursday night, and passed it on to both of my boys. Josh came home early from school on friday to rest, and poor Henry has had terrible diarreah. Josh was so ill Friday evening that he called over some friends in our ward for a blessing. Combined with the blessing, and some really great tips from my mom Josh was able to get some sleep, a little, but some, and compete Saturday morning. Anyway, we are feeling better but are trying to be very restful today.
I know it seems that long entries drag on and on and on, but I wanted to open a little piece of our world to you out there.
Hope all is well! Pease on earth!

Egg Mixture:
4-6 Eggs
2/3 C. Milk

Fry or boil cubed potatoes until tender
(I fried the potatoes with a little butter and the onion)
Cook and drain sausage
Put sausaga, potatoes, and veggies in a greased casserole dish and pour egg mixture on top.

Cook at 375 for about 45 minutes.
ENJOY!

More rambling thoughts of a law school mommy

A woman in my ward that I play bunko with was telling me about a book called One L about a man and his experiance as a first year law student at Harvard. I was planning on getting this book from the library and was amazed to find that this incredibly generous woman MAILED me her own copy. I havent made it into the book very far, and from what I have gathered his experiance thus far is very similar to Josh's. I have decided to tell you a little more about my experiance as One L Wife and Mommy. Josh and I spent months trying to decide where we should go to law school. I will probably refer to his law school career as if it my own often times because much of the time I feel as if I am in it just as much as he is. We considered Vegas, a new school, but it came with a very generous scholarship. We considered the University of Utah. That's where family was, and it was something we'd be comfortable with. We considered George Washington and obviously eventually decided upon it. It was an opportunity we simply could not pass up, and we are still very thankful Josh has been blessed to study at such a great school. So...we uprooted our little family and moved across the county. It's been a little rocky, but not nearly as much as it could of been I think. I was thankful I would have my sweet little Henry to keep me busy. All in all, it was an adjustment to not only move across the country but to do it with a 3 week old baby. I almost immediatly felt though that I could do more good here. I would have the opportunity to become more involved in my ward, my calling, and my home. Since then I have had moments where I did feel like I would be more useful working....... Its hard sometimes to see the progress you make in your own home, with your children, and your household. It was easy to see my contribution when I was bringing home a paycheck, and helping provide for a family. It was easy to see that I was making a difference when my restaurant would increse in sales. But becoming a mommy wasnt like that right away and often times its still hard to see. But I know somewhere deep down inside me that I am doing the very more important thing that I can be doing. I spend every waking moment with my son. Talking to him, feeding him, bathing him, making sure he eats well, and sleeps well. I want him to always be comfortable and happy, and although it doesnt always feel like important work, and I so so so grateful Heavenly Father has entrusted one of his most precious children to me, and I hope that I wont let him down.
Wow....much rambling tonight. Time for bed....
Goodnight world!
