Happy Graduation - 2 MONTHS Early!

Well, I found a deal I could not pass up. I purchased Josh's graduation present a couple weeks ago, and with some clever detective work on his part, he was able to figure that I had indeed purchased something and that it was most likely something he really wanted. An Ipad he thought... Well, He was correct. That left with me with 2 options. 1. I could torture him for the next two months knowing it was here and that he couldn't have it. OR 2. Give it to him early so he could reap the benefits of owning such a fun toy two months earlier then planned. I decided on the latter, however I did decide he would have to work for it. SO, I sent him on a scavenger hunt. I told him it was our FHE activity and sent him and Henry on their way. This was SOOO much fun. I am certain I will do this again in the future. I wanted to remember what I had done, so below you will find the clues he followed to his gift.... ENJOY

The Note to start with the first clue:
"Welcome to the game of mine, a treasure soon you will find!
Enjoy the hunt and have some fun, for it will quickly be done!"

1. I'm in the mood for something GROOVY, so let's go watch a _ _ _ _ _  (Movie!)
2. Look high, look low, look where the water flows
3. We gotta stay cool so lets go to the _ _ _ _ (Pool!)
4. Clue number 4, there's just a few more, Where do you rest your head? Go to your bed!
5. We gotta do something to beat the heat! Lets go get something to _ _ _ (Eat)
6. I know how to find number 6, look for something we use to mix!
7. Stiff is my spine and my body is pale, but I'm always ready to tell a tale
8. You put your clothes in when they are wet, and I will dry them? YOU BET!
9. Plastic or glass, I hold your drink. To wash me out, use the sink!
10. Water and light I need to grow. You can find me near a window.
11. I have a face, it doesn't frown. I have no mouth, just a sound. I have hands they dont wave. I dont walk, but move around. (clock or watch)
12. Ahh.. the kids make such a mess - Check around someone's nest
13. When I point up it's bright, but when Im down it's dark (Light switch or switch on a lamp)
14. The next clue subsides in the right kind of wheels, but a man can find it only if he kneels. (Tire)
15. Have you been a good boy this year? Cleaned up your toys and put away your gear? You might want to check just one last time...is there a wrench out place or too much grease or grime? (tool box)
16. This is your last clue till a treasure you find, a child loves me, but without eyes I am blind (Mr. Potato Head)
Josh LOVES his graduation present and I am so proud of him for all the hard work he puts into his education. I am certain I dont tell him enough, but I am so grateful for the man he is. I am so grateful he is a family man. He is a wonderful father and spends hours on long walks with Henry, at the park, or on outings for a treat or a bagel... sometimes to spend Henry's saved money in his piggy bank on a special toy. They have a very sweet relationship, and I feel so blessed. I am grateful Josh is such a wonderful husband. Always willing to help a little more then usual when I am down, or even just if I need a break! Happy Graduation sweetheart. No one deserves this more then you.

Happy St. Patricks Day - 5 Extraordinary Years

The last 5 years have been the best of my life. I love you baby.
5 Years later:
1 Incredible, handsome little boy -
6 moves
2 schools
So Much More, and One really happy family...

I LOVE this lamp. Josh is incredibly creative don't you think?.... He let me think for just a minute or two I was getting just the white lamp before he turned it on. I'll probably fall asleep with it on for the next couple nights.
I got Josh this wooden watch for our anniversary. We dont usually do the 'traditional' anniversary gifts  - I thought it wold be fun for our 5 years to do something wooden. So voila! AND he was just telling Henry he didn't have a brown watch... Phew, Im glad that worked out.
We started our anniversary by visiting the Library of Congress where Josh was able to get a Library Card. He has wanted one for the last 2.5 years so I decided it was now or never. I forgot how colorful the Library of Congress was! It is sooo beautiful inside.
When I planned out date I didn't realize that there was a 1/2 marathon going on in the city  so we enjoyed a rather long walk to the Library of Congress. It couldn't have been more incredibly beautiful though.

We enjoyed lunch at the Founding Farmers. I had never been, but I'd heard great things about it. It was a bit noisier then I thought and would have liked, but the food was wonderful, the company even better.
Later that evening we spent some time wandering Old Town Alexandria. We LOVE it here.  The old book and antique stores...The old and new shops....the fun restaurants. Its amazing. Each time I go I love it more. We ended up at the waterfront to enjoy our Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. YUM! It was a beautiful night. The picture above is of a gentleman playing these glasses of water. We have seen him before but each time I see him I am impressed more then I was the time before. He just tapes all these glasses to the table and plays incredible songs. I Love coming here to see and hear him.
